Job summary

Firefly Aerospace is seeking a Mechanical/Fluid Technician IV for our Briggs, TX facility. You will fabricate, install, and maintain critical pad systems and support engineering reviews. The role requires initiative, precision, and hands-on mechanical aptitude to ensure mission success.

You will lead a team, perform high-pressure fluid work, and weld as needed. The job emphasizes safety, documentation, and collaboration across teams in a demanding launch environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years experience with mechanical and fluid systems incl. high pressure pneumatics and cryogenic propellant handling.
  • Experience with ground support equipment and associated fabrication.
  • Familiarity with NPT, MS, AN fittings and Swagelok.
  • Skilled in drilling, sawing, grinding, etc. for shop practices.
  • Experience with crane and lift operations.
  • Proficient in writing routine reports and documenting tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technicians in build, install, and maintenance of pad systems.
  • Support engineers in system design and reviews.
  • Fabricate parts and piping per drawings and specs.
  • Interpret P&IDs and drawings for installation, troubleshooting, repair of pad systems.
  • Install and maintain fluid system components (valves, regulators, sensors).
  • Perform LO/TO procedures for safety during tests and upgrades.
  • Operate launch-site equipment and perform calibrations to specs.
  • Weld aluminum and steel parts as needed to tight tolerances.
