Job summary

ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS, REHABILITATION & REENTRY is seeking an Equipment Repair Technician at ASPC – Yuma to keep the state fleet safe and reliable. You will inspect vehicles, guide repairs, and support preventive maintenance, inventory, and reporting while training inmate staff in hands-on skills.

Role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and efficient shop operations, with responsibilities to manage parts, budgets, and records.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of powertrain inspections and diagnoses.
• Experience in electrical/electronic controls and diagnostics.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and vehicle/operator manuals.

Responsibilities

• Trains, coordinates and supervises inmate mechanics.
• Analyses repair work and prioritizes repairs; coordinates with vendors when needed.
• Conducts vehicle inspections and determines needed parts and purchases.
• Prepares purchase orders and maintains inventory of parts and tools.
• Maintains data in the fleet management program (RTA).
• Maintains complete inventory and stays current with new technology.
