Job summary

Chobani is seeking a Flavor Applications Scientist for the Innovation R&D team in North Brunswick, NJ, on-site with relocation anticipated to NYC in 2027. You will lead flavor development from concept to commercialization, collaborate with flavor houses and internal teams, and guide sensory evaluation to meet product, brand, technical, and cost objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Food Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 4–7+ years in flavor applications or related R&D roles; experience with brief-through-commercialization flavor development.
• Strong understanding of flavor functionality in dairy, cultured dairy or beverages; bench formulation experience.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills; ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary flavor expert supporting Innovation R&D projects from concept to commercialization.
• Lead flavor development across product initiatives and translate briefs into strategies and specifications.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external flavor partners to ensure target sensory profiles and cost targets.
• Conduct sensory evaluations, benchmarking, and documentation of outcomes to guide decisions.
• Support pilot, scale-up, and commercialization while assessing risk and feasibility.
