Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks a Fixed Wing Pilot to lead and execute safe aircraft operations across assigned transports. You will work within a structured program, uphold FAA regulations, and coordinate with medical teams to ensure timely patient transport.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a Commercial certificate with appropriate category and class ratings and instrument airplane. Eligible to complete ATP CTP within one year.
  • 2500 Hours in Airplanes.
  • For Multi Engine Aircraft: ATP rating for Multi-Engine Land Airplanes; 3000 Hours in Airplanes; 1000 hours Multi-Engine.
  • 200 flight hours at hours in airplanes at night.
  • 300 flight hours instrument (100 actual).
  • 500 Pilot in Command hours in multi-engine airplane.
  • 500 Pilot in Command hours in turbine airplane.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and effectively operate aircraft per federal regulations, manufacturer’s recommendations, and Intermountain policies.
  • Demonstrate independent critical thinking in preflight planning and operations.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of aviation regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, specialists, and patients; coordinate decision making.
  • Keep aircraft clean and safe; ensure a safe environment for crew and patients.
  • Evaluate transports according to service criteria.
  • Pursue education and mentor peers; participate in flight reviews and team education.
  • Assist medical crewmembers with loading, oxygen, and maintenance tasks.
  • Lead Pilot duties: manage satellite base functions and corrective actions when rules are violated.
  • As Instructor/Check Pilot, evaluate flight performance and training program quality.
  • As Mentor Pilot, support Second-in-Command pilots under the pilot development program.
  • Act as Safety Representative to monitor safety issues and drive improvements.
