Job summary

D2 Technical Services is seeking a Lead Firewall Engineer to oversee the NSS Boundary Team and ensure QA standards and SLAs are met. This role reports to the Branch Chief of Cyber Technology Services.

Responsibilities include leading daily operations, designing security solutions with F5, Juniper SRX, and Palo Alto, and ensuring STIG/SRG baselines are enforced across systems and documentation. The position requires TS/SCI clearance and extensive domain experience.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance and 8+ years in network security technologies.
• Experience in large-scale enterprise/global networks and DoD frameworks.
• Proven ability to manage a Firewall/Boundary Security Team.

Responsibilities

• Serve as focal point for firewall tasks, operations, and projects.
• Lead and manage daily operations, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Design and implement security solutions using F5, Palo Alto, Juniper SRX.
• Ensure devices meet STIG/SRG baselines and document configurations.
• Lead compliance evaluations and audits and oversee SOPs.
• Monitor performance, logs, versioning, and configuration drift.
• Maintain network diagrams, inventories, and licensing status.
• Provide reports and briefings to contract and government leadership.
• Coordinate issues with stakeholders to ensure task completion and satisfaction.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance network capacity.
