Duties

• Direct 3 or more crew members (including a driver-operator) assigned to a shift in structural/airfield firefighting activities and fire related rescue missions.
• Assign station maintenance work such as cleaning equipment, maintaining firefighting apparatus and equipment of the fire station, and grounds surrounding the fire station.
• Perform a variety of firefighting, hazardous material response, and related aid and rescue work associated with buildings, shops, warehouses, storage areas, and light aircraft.
• Take, record, and monitor patient’s baseline vital signs including temperature, blood pressure, and pulse.

Requirements

• Duties require full use of both arms, both legs, and fingers to bend, turn, pull, crawl, kneel, and climb for such tasks as use of aerial ladders, firefighting equipment controls,
• arranging/connecting hoses, rappelling, operation of fire truck and all types of rescue operations, etc.
• Works a 72-hour weekly/144-hour pay period tour of duty.
