Job summary

The Kansas Fire & Rescue Training Institute, a KU Lifelong and Professional Education unit, seeks a flexible instructor to deliver KFRTI training programs across Kansas. You will serve as lead instructor, assistant instructor, or safety officer (if qualified) and coordinate with program coordinators and managers.

Responsibilities include providing temporary assistance in research, project or program support, and grant assistance, with duties totaling up to 999 hours per calendar year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus five years of progressive experience conducting/ providing fire service training.
• Incident Command System Training: ics 100 and 200.
• Two years of fire and emergency services Instructional experience (80 hours per year).
• Physical ability to perform the tasks associated with the instruction and evaluation processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead instructor, assistant instructor, or safety officer (if qualified) to deliver KFRTI training programs.
• Coordinate and collaborate with program coordinators and managers.
• Deliver KFRTI training programs and support grant activities as needed.
