Job summary

Join ZING in Rockville, MD as a Lead Fire Alarm Technician. You will inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair commercial fire alarm systems on-site, respond to service calls, and document findings. Perform NFPA-compliant inspections and provide accurate reports.

• Ability to test and service Simplex, Notifier, and Fire-Lite systems.

• $35.00 to $50.00/hour | Direct Hire

Join ZING as a Lead Fire Alarm Technician!

What You'll Do

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair commercial fire alarm systems
• Respond to service calls and diagnose system issues
• Perform inspections in accordance with NFPA and local code requirements
• Complete accurate inspection reports and service documentation
• Repair or replace equipment to restore systems to compliance
• Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on fire alarm experience
• Experience servicing commercial fire alarm systems
• Valid driver's license with 3 or fewer points
• Minimum 3 years of licensed driving experience
• Ability to test and service Simplex, Notifier, and Fire-Lite systems
• Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, attics, and crawl spaces
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
• Strong customer service, communication, and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• NICET Certification
• Experience with special hazard suppression systems including FM-200 and Halon
• Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic experience

Compensation & Perks

• $35.00 to $50.00/hour based on experience
• Quarterly bonus opportunities
• Time-and-a-half for hours worked between 6:00 PM and 5:00 AM
• Emergency service premium pay
• Double-time holiday emergency call pay
