Job summary

Total Fire Protection is seeking a lead technician to drive commercial fire alarm installation, service, programming and commissioning across the Greater Philadelphia region. You will troubleshoot complex systems, read drawings, and coordinate with electricians, GCs and AHJs to ensure smooth project delivery.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience, NICET certification, and familiarity with major platforms like Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, NOTIFIER, Siemens and Simplex.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial fire alarm experience.
• Strong installation, service and troubleshooting ability.
• Fire alarm programming and commissioning experience.
• Strong understanding of NFPA 72 and applicable fire alarm codes.
• Ability to read construction drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Experience leading other technicians and working independently.
• Professional customer and AHJ communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Experience with major platforms is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Run fire alarm projects from startup through acceptance testing.
• Read and interpret drawings, specifications and sequences.
• Troubleshoot SLC, NAC, power, communication and ground faults.
• Program and commission fire alarm systems.
• Coordinate work with electricians, sprinkler personnel and other trades.
• Conduct acceptance testing with AHJs.
• Document field conditions and deficiencies.
• Train and mentor developing technicians.
• Help establish field standards and best practices.
