Job summary

Dowbuilt is seeking aFinish Carpenter to support high-end residential projects. You will read drawings, manage layouts, and coordinate with subs to keep deadlines and quality on track.

You will mentor fellow carpenters, assist with framing to finish work, and order materials with the Superintendent. This role requires strong carpentry skills, sharp problem-solving, and U.S. work authorization.

Qualifications

• Experience hanging doors and setting windows.
• Experience waterproofing; flash exterior doors and windows.
• Proficiency with use of builder’s level.
• Thorough understanding of structural framing details.
• Knowledge of trim installation (doors, windows, base, crown).
• Familiarity with coping & scribing for cabinetry & trim.
• Ability to mill materials to exact dimensions.
• Ability to cut tapers in trim boards when walls are out of plumb.
• Familiarity with jigs for routing door and cabinet hardware.
• Familiarity with cabinetry and casework installation.
• Proficiency with high-level carpentry tools.
• Crown molding at various wall angles; coping or mitered joins.
• Paneling fabrication and install.
• Stair work including handrails and skirt boards.
• Mathematical accuracy for angles and pitches.
• Glue up joinery for shelves/tables.
• Sharpening techniques for chisels and plane blades.
• U.S. work authorization

Responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting architectural and shop drawings.
• Managing building layout and dimensional control.
• Establishing deadlines and communicating changes to Foreman and Superintendent.
• Preparing and executing the daily work plan.
• Coordinating with subcontractors to prep each day.
• Assisting fellow carpenters from framing to finish.
• Working with Superintendent to order materials.
• Evaluating cabinetry, door and window details and shop drawings.
• Providing mentoring to Carpenters, Apprentices, and Laborers.
• Reporting unsafe practices to Foreman or Superintendent.
