Job summary

AEP in Ohio is seeking an Experienced Financial Analyst to support expanding capacity for complex financial modeling, regulatory analysis and decision support. You will develop forecasts, perform variance analysis, and mentor analysts, while preparing executive reports for the Board.

Additional responsibilities include identifying process improvements, building sophisticated financial models, and applying FERC regulatory knowledge to assess financial impacts of operations and investments.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, mathematics, or a related quantitative field is required.
• MBA, CPA, CMA, CIA, PE, CFP or other professional certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, formulate and develop assumptions for financial forecasts, with operating company personnel, using corporate financial models.
• Perform monthly/quarterly variance reporting and analysis of budget vs. actual results and prior year results.
• Develop/manage staff where applicable and mentor analysts.
• Prepare and make reports to executive management and Board of Directors.
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement, cost savings and revenue enhancement.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance sophisticated financial models (pro forma income statements, scenario modeling, sensitivity analyses).
• Improve and innovate financial analysis processes toward automation and actionable insights.
• Apply deep utility finance and regulatory expertise (FERC formula rates, O&M budgeting, cost allocation).
• Bring analytical judgment and communicate findings effectively.
