Job summary

Smart Tech Contracting, LLC is seeking a Lead Field Technician – Critical Infrastructure to support hyperscale data center construction projects ranging from 40 MW to 200 MW. This senior role acts as the primary execution lead under the Site Superintendent and coordinates multiple trades to ensure safety, schedule, and quality.

The position requires relocation to or residence in Atlanta, GA / Amarillo, Lubbock, Big Spring, Fort Worth, Dallas, Buffalo, NY or El Paso, TX / Las Cruces, NM, with

Qualifications

6–8 years of experience in field execution roles within mission-critical construction environments.
Demonstrated experience directing field crews and coordinating subcontractors.
Strong understanding of construction sequencing, safety practices, and quality control.
Experience working under a Site Superintendent or Project Superintendent on large-scale projects.

Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day field execution for assigned scopes, zones, or workstreams.
Direct field labor and coordinate subcontractors and trade partners within assigned areas.
Coordinate daily activities across trades including electrical, mechanical, automation, controls, networking, and commissioning.
Develop and maintain 2–3 week look-ahead schedules aligned with the GC master schedule.
