Job summary

We are seeking a Lead Field Technician to join TGG Accounting in Clinton Township, MI. This is a hands-on role supporting commercial overhead doors and loading dock equipment across new construction, service, repair, and installation projects.

The field‑focused position involves taking ownership of jobs from start to finish and working with a close-knit, family‑owned team. You’ll spend ~95% of time in the field, communicating with customers, and documenting work via iPad.

Qualifications

• Hands‑on experience installing/repairing overhead doors and/or loading dock equipment.
• Installation, service, repair, and troubleshooting experience.
• Residential or commercial door experience will be considered.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving ability.
• Comfortable working independently in the field.
• Tech‑savvy and comfortable using an iPad, smartphone, email, and basic computer systems.
• Valid, clean driver’s license.
• Must be able to successfully pass a background check and drug screening, including THC.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform installation, service, repair, and troubleshooting of commercial overhead doors and loading dock equipment
• Work on both new construction projects and aftermarket/service calls
• Report to the shop, review the day’s jobs, and load the necessary materials into your company vehicle
• Measure openings, understand product requirements, and ensure proper installation
• Diagnose equipment issues and determine appropriate repairs
• Communicate directly with customers in the field
• Complete job documentation, photos, and service information using an iPad
• Maintain a clean, organized work truck and shop environment
• Work independently while also collaborating with other technicians and installers
• Provide clear documentation of service findings and completed work
