You will use surveying equipment to collect and present accurate field data, ensure precision in building control lines, column placement, and anchor rod locations, and travel to job sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in structural steel erection preferred.
• Experience surveying slopes/grades/wall lines for miscellaneous metals.
• Knowledge of using total station or similar surveying equipment.
• Availability for travel to field sites.
• Able to work at heights in an aerial lift or on elevated steel floors, emphasizing safety.
• Thorough understanding of AISC requirements for building orientation and alignment.
• Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data collection.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with team and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Use surveying equipment to collect and present accurate data for field use, ensuring precision in building control lines and column placement.
• Promote safety culture and uphold Safety, Quality, and Production priorities.
• Travel to job sites for data collection.
• Verify elevations and alignments; provide as-built drawings.
• Utilize software such as Trimble, Bluebeam, CAD, and Microsoft Office.
• Deliver information for column and steel installation alignment and anchor rod surveys.
• Maintain building plumbness and square; coordinate with other trades for steel placement.
• Assist with miscellaneous steel placement (stairs, shafts).
• Coordinate crane beam install and steel work related to other trades.
