Job summary

Encompass Energy Services is seeking a Survey Party Chief to lead field operations for high-precision as-built documentation in upstate New York. You will direct survey crews, enforce safety, and ensure data quality using Trimble robotic total stations, GNSS receivers, and Trimble Access software.

Applicants must have at least ten years of verifiable land surveying, with five years as Party Chief on industrial or energy construction projects, hold a valid driver's license, and be able to travel

Qualifications

• Ten years of verifiable land surveying experience.
• Five+ years as Survey Party Chief on industrial/construction projects.
• Proficiency with Trimble robotic total stations and GNSS receivers.
• Strong knowledge of survey control, COGO, and construction staking.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all field survey personnel.
• Perform high-accuracy as-built surveys using Trimble robotic total stations and GNSS equipment.
• Establish, verify, and maintain project control networks.
• Verify survey observations through redundant measurements and QA procedures.
• Perform instrument setup verification, backsight checks, calibration checks, and daily equipment inspections.
• Coordinate survey activities with project management, contractors, engineers, and client representatives.
• Collect, review, and submit complete electronic survey data per procedures.
• Identify field discrepancies and communicate potential conflicts before construction impacts.
• Maintain field documentation, survey reports, and daily production logs.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and project-specific requirements.
• Train and mentor survey technicians and junior field personnel.
• Maintain equipment and calibration documentation.
