Job summary

Dresdner Robin in Fairfield, New Jersey is seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief to lead a field crew and ensure the safe, accurate completion of field assignments across New Jersey and the surrounding region.

The successful candidate will independently organize fieldwork, direct field personnel, resolve field challenges, and provide complete field data to Survey Project Managers and technical staff. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of progressive land surveying field experience
• Experience independently leading a survey crew
• Proficiency with boundary/topographic/ALTA/NSPS surveys
• Ability to read deeds, maps, and construction plans
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel across NJ

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct a survey field crew on boundary, ALTA/NSPS, topo, utility, and construction layout projects
• Review project scopes, deeds, maps, and construction plans before fieldwork
• Plan daily field assignments in coordination with Survey Project Managers
• Conduct field reconnaissance and establish survey control and monumentation
• Operate robotic total stations, GNSS, data collectors, and related equipment
• Prepare legible field notes, sketches, and electronic records and ensure data quality
