Job summary

Inception Engineering & Consulting, LLC is seeking a Construction Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations on active projects in Gainesville, FL. The role requires strong on-site leadership, coordination of subs, and strict schedule management.

You will read multi-discipline drawings, monitor quality, and proactively resolve field issues to minimize delays. Regular travel between project sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction superintendent or field-supervision experience.
• Commercial construction experience required.
• Ability to read architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Strong scheduling knowledge and use of scheduling software.
• Willingness to travel regularly between project sites and occasional overnight.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a strong daily presence on active construction sites.
• Coordinate subcontractors and trades to ensure progress.
• Develop and manage construction schedules and weekly look-ahead schedules.
• Identify and resolve field issues to avoid delays or rework.
• Read and coordinate drawings across disciplines (architectural, structural, MEP).
• Monitor workmanship and ensure corrective actions for deficiencies.
• Coordinate inspections and address deficiencies.
• Prepare daily reports, progress photos, and schedule updates.
• Manage project costs by tracking material usage and potential overruns.
