Job summary

Qualus Corporation in Louisville is seeking a Lead Field Service Technician to test, maintain, and repair a wide array of electrical equipment including low/medium voltage breakers, transformers, and switchgear. You will lead field and shop operations, ensuring reliability of critical electrical systems and collaborating with clients on safety and performance.

The role requires 5–7 years in power/industrial services, NETA certification preferred, and strong knowledge of PowerDB and schematic

Qualifications

• 5-7 years' related experience in power plants, industrial services, primary power distribution and related protection and control schemes.
• Minimum 2 years of industrial or commercial power systems experience.
• Licensures and Certifications: NETA 2, 3, or 4 preferred.
• Education: High School Diploma.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (reading and writing) due to safety-related materials and interactions with clients.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing on low and medium voltage breakers including Megger, Ductor, Hi-Pot, Hi-Current, and Timing tests.
• Complete mechanical work and repairs on breakers, including tear down, refurbishment and parts replacement.
• Utilize and accurately read meters.
• Read schematics and wiring drawings.
• Troubleshoot circuit controls.
• Read and plot time-current curves.
• Read and understand electrical one-line drawings and symbols.
• Test power and current transformers, including Power Factor and TTR.
• Document accurately using Power DB.
• Work with electrical testing equipment and tools.

As a Lead Field Service Technician, where you will be responsible for testing, maintaining, and repairing a wide array of electrical equipment, including low and medium voltage circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, motor controls, and more. As a leader in both the shop and field environments, you\'ll spearhead critical operations, ensuring the reliability and functionality of essential electrical systems. Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• Reference and complete assignments as described in applicable specifications.


• Ability to communicate effectively in English (inclusive of reading and writing) due to the nature of safety-related materials, documentation, and interactions with clients.


• Perform regular field work both indoors and outdoors.


• Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, business acumen, job management ability.


• Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerDB, Word, Excel and Outlook).


• Valid Driver\'s license and good driving record.


• Prefer an Associate\’s degree from an accredited 2-year technical college in Electrical Power & Controls (EPC), or an Electrical Engineering Degree from an ABET accredited college, similar experience and training from the military (Army Prime Power, Air Force Electrical Power Production, or NAVY Seabee)
