Job description

Join the proactive team at Appalachian Network Services Inc as a Lead Field Services Technician, where your expertise will be crucial in leading on-site technical operations and maintaining the highest standards of service quality and operational efficiency. In this key leadership role, you will ensure project success and client satisfaction through expert troubleshooting, diligent tool and material management, and exemplary on-site quality assurance.

Wage: $28/hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and direct on-site technical operations, ensuring compliance with AppNet's quality and efficiency standards.
  • Provide expert troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues, serving as a key technical resource for the team.
  • Oversee the management and tracking of tools and materials to ensure optimal resource utilization and project readiness.
  • Collaborate with project management and engineering teams to streamline project execution and enhance service delivery.
  • Model a positive, cooperative, and productive work environment, fostering a culture of safety and adherence to all safety standards and protocols.
  • Lead safety initiatives at job sites, ensuring that all operations are conducted with the highest regard for safety. Conduct pre-operation safety briefings, monitor compliance with safety measures, and set a strong example of safe practices for all team members.
Additional Duties And Responsibilities
  • Assist in conducting site surveys for clients, aid in designing, and implement standards and specifications.
  • Contribute to team effort by collaborating effectively within the team and participating in professional development opportunities.
  • Offer guidance and leadership to team members, enhancing their technical skills and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Licensing And Compliance Requirements

This role requires active participation in obtaining a NC Alarm System License Registrant. This licensure is essential for any team member involved in the installation, maintenance, or remote access to Camera Systems, Alarm Systems, or Access Control Systems. Management of the licensure process will be overseen by our NC Alarm System License Licensee to ensure all legal and regulatory requirements are met.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required
  • Exceptional technical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with expertise in low voltage cabling and telecommunications systems.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, capable of leading by example and motivating team members.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple tasks simultaneously and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Experience with EIA, BICSI, NEC, or TIA standards, and proficient in the installation of copper and fiber optic cables.
  • Comprehensive understanding of NFPA 70 and NFPA 72 code requirements as they apply to the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Low voltage and fire alarm systems.
  • Familiarity with electrical safety standards and the ability to interpret complex technical documentation and schematics related to low-voltage cabling and security systems.
  • Knowledge of general building codes and local regulations that impact field service operations.
  • Experience bending and running conduit, using digital multi-meters, and with anaerobic terminations and splicing.
  • Ability to work in small spaces, at varying heights, and ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs and occasionally heavier.
  • Must be able to safely work on ladders for extended periods and comply with safety standards, including adhering to the maximum weight capacity for ladders, including personal gear and tools.
  • Able to operate aerial boom lifts (3B) and scissor lifts (3A) safely and proficiently, in accordance with safety regulations and best practices.
Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced technical training or certification highly regarded.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a technical leadership role, with a proven track record of leading field service teams.

Schedule
  • Full-time, Monday to Friday.
  • Additional hours as needed to meet project deadlines.
