Job Description Summary

We seek a dedicated Lead Field Service Technician to provide post-sale technical support to our customers through onsite engagements. As a Lead Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of our equipment and delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves regional and national travel to support accounts.

Duration of Employment: This position has a one-year duration, ending on September 30, 2026. Employment will terminate if not extended or transitioned within BD.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead projects and serve as the first support contact for customer communications and onsite activities.
  2. Travel extensively to customer locations.
  3. Gain proficiency in all field service skills, including maintenance, calibration, device disassembly/reassembly, and software support.
  4. Provide onsite and phone support for installation, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
  5. Respond promptly to equipment errors to minimize downtime.
  6. Execute complex installations and customize configurations.
  7. Maintain quality documentation and train service associates.
  8. Improve processes and develop efficient resolutions.
  9. Ensure customer satisfaction throughout the support process.
  10. Implement logistics and knowledge tools to enhance first-time-fix rates.
  11. Travel expectations: 100% travel.
  12. Ability to lift and transfer up to 70 lbs.

Educational Qualifications & Experience:

  • Associate degree, military training, or equivalent field experience (3-5 years).
  • Strong computer troubleshooting skills across multiple software programs.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently or in teams.
  • Valid driver’s license and compliance with auto safety standards.

Professional Skills & Key Competencies:

  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to learn detailed product knowledge and technical concepts.
  • Proficient in hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Travel coordination skills.

Additional Skills & Knowledge:

  • Background in biomedical, networking, military, or field technician roles.
  • Experience in healthcare environment preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications and troubleshooting tools.

Additional Information:

  • Weekend and overtime hours required.
  • Maintain compliance with vendor credentialing and immunizations.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record for 3+ years.
