Job summary

Herc Rentals in Georgia seeks a Field Service Mechanic A to maintain and repair our fleet at customer job sites. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose heavy equipment, and keep detailed service logs while upholding safety standards.

This role requires working independently on various job sites, following formal procedures, and documenting work promptly for customer and branch records. As a master technician, you will lead with product knowledge, educate customers on proper use to

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to operate and test equipment such as boom lifts, forklifts, generators, hydraulics, pumps and assorted tools and equipment.
• Ownership of sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools.
• Ability to understand technical schematics and manuals.
• On-call availability and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a schedule of preventive maintenance at long term customer job sites.
• Oversee oil changes, lubrication, tire replacements, hose repairs and repairs.
• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment to ensure proper operating condition.
• Troubleshoot fuel, electrical, hydraulic and propane systems.
• Replace parts to restore equipment to safe operation.
• Educate customers on proper equipment use to prevent breakdowns.
• Analyze wear and address issues before next visit.
• Adhere to safety guidelines at active job sites.
• Maintain a clean, organized job site and timely repair logs.
• Produce detailed service reports and logs; follow all procedures.
• Build positive relationships with customers and perform additional duties as assigned.
