Fisheries Immersed Sciences Hawaii (FISH) seeks a Fisheries Biologist – Field & Laboratory Lead to support NOAA NMFS projects. Work spans Alaska field sites, laboratory processing, data entry, and participation in oceanographic surveys aboard research vessels.

Position is full-time with travel between Juneau, AK and Newport, OR. Responsibilities include sample processing, measuring organisms, and coordinating lab operations while ensuring data quality and timely reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in fisheries science, marine biology, oceanography, or related field.
• 0–3+ years of field and/or laboratory experience.
• Willingness to travel and work in lab and at-sea environments.

Responsabilités

• Participate in research surveys aboard vessels.
• Assist with fish, zooplankton, and invertebrate sampling.
• Perform CTD operations and physical oceanography sampling.
• Inventory samples, measure lengths/weights, and prepare samples for analyses.
• Record data and prepare monthly progress reports.
