Fisheries Immersed Sciences Hawaii (FISH) is seeking a Biological Laboratory Technician to join the Juneau, AK lab, supporting NOAA NMFS AFSC IERP with biological sample processing. This full-time role requires working on-site at Auke Bay Laboratories and offers competitive compensation and benefits.

Responsibilities include inventorying samples, measuring organism length/weight, preparing samples for genetics, isotope and lipid analyses, and recording laboratory data while following established

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (or coursework) in marine biology or related field.
• 0–3+ years of laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Inventory biological samples.
• Measure length and weight of organisms.
• Remove otoliths, stomachs, and tissue samples.
• Prepare samples for genetics, isotope, and energetic analyses.
• Homogenize samples for laboratory processing.
• Prepare samples for lipid and isotope analysis.
• Record and enter laboratory data.
• Follow established laboratory procedures.
