Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a senior field/maintenance engineer to repair and modify aerospace systems in development or field locations. The role requires deep knowledge of aviation subsystems, strong troubleshooting, and the ability to work with government customers and program leadership.

The ideal candidate will hold a STEM degree with extensive engineering experience, qualify for SAP access, and be prepared for travel up to 25% with potential night/weekend work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM discipline with extensive engineering experience, or higher degrees with related experience.
• Experience working with aviation systems and subsystems.
• Ability to follow technical manuals and repair manuals carefully.
• Strong interaction with design engineers and other aerospace specialties.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and resolve engineering production problems related to manufacturing, design, quality and materials.
• Analyze specifications and drawings with engineers, quality, materials, and subcontractors.
• Investigate reports of defective or malfunctioning parts and systems.
• Examine and test defective parts for conformance.
• Develop installation procedure steps and redline drawings.
• Assist retrofit and field modifications and train technicians.
