Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Lead Fiber Technician to join a data center build in Northern VA & Southern MD. The schedule is Monday–Thursday, 10-hour days starting at 6am.

You will supervise 2–3 crew members, perform advanced fiber optic splicing and testing, read customer prints, track schedules, and mentor technicians toward future leadership roles.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in telecommunications construction, OSP, or cabling, preferably in a data center.
• OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, or BICSI/Fiber Optic Association credentials preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, troubleshoot live networks, and hold a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Crew Leadership: Supervise 2–3 crew members, run daily safety meetings, and assign tasks.
• Technical Work: Perform advanced fiber optic splicing and testing.
• Project Oversight: Read customer prints, track schedules, ensure safety and quality compliance.
• Develop Technicians into future Leads by giving them responsibility and teaching strategic thinking.
