Job summary

Honda Research Institute USA, Inc. seeks a Principal VMS/FBW Systems Engineer to lead architecture, requirements, supplier development, integration, verification, and certification readiness of safety-critical FBW systems for Honda's next-generation eVTOL aircraft.

The role focuses on flight-control computers, sensors, actuators, control-law integration, redundancy, testing, and on-site leadership reporting to the VMS Director.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• Master's degree in a relevant technical or engineering-management discipline preferred.
• Twelve or more years of aerospace flight-control, FBW, VMS, or safety-critical aircraft-systems development experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead FBW system architecture, requirements allocation, design baselines, and interface-control development for prototype and type-certification aircraft.
• Develop and integrate FBW control laws, mode/state logic, and monitors using model-based methods and MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow.
• Lead supplier selection and execution for flight-control computers, sensors, and actuation equipment.
• Define and lead FBW integration, verification, safety, and certification activities across MIL/SIL/PIL/HIL environments.
