Job summary

GE Aerospace seeks a Lead Engineer to define and maintain the FADEC operating system, hosting embedded software for aircraft engine hardware. You will work with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers to ensure the product line meets customer needs and safety standards.

You will develop requirements, lead agile software development, validate hardware and software, prepare technical documentation, and collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, and Software teams to integrate control

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math).
Minimum 3 years of experience in Software/Systems/Electrical Engineering.
Ability to obtain U.S. Government security clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

Develop requirements for FADEC OS with experts and stakeholders to ensure OS supports intended operation.
Define, develop, and evolve software in an agile development environment.
Collaborate with suppliers on design reviews and qualification to meet product-line standards.
Conduct testing and validation of hardware and software to meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
Prepare design specifications, test plans, and reports.
Partner with Mechanical, Electrical, and Software teams to integrate control systems across engine components.
Lead Lean initiatives to enhance system performance, reliability, and software quality.
Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.
