Roof Above seeks an Assistant Facilities Manager to supervise turnover of vacant apartments and manage inspections. You will lead repairs, coordinate with facilities leadership, and ensure safety systems are up to date across multiple properties in Charlotte, NC.

Focusing on individuals experiencing homelessness, Roof Above offers everything from street outreach to shelter to Rapid Rehousing to Permanent Supportive Housing. Roof Above’s services and programs reach over 1,200 individuals every day across seven campuses in Charlotte (up to 14 campuses in COVID). Roof Above was born through the merger of Urban Ministry Center and Men’s Shelter of Charlotte in 2019.
The Assistant Facility Manager will serve as the Project Supervisor for turning over vacant apartments for new occupants and housing inspections. This position will be responsible for the maintenance and repairs of assigned sites to ensure facilities are prepared for daily operations and overall management including but not limited to completing work orders, maintaining laundry facility, managing dumpster, pest control and landscaping services. Additionally, the Assistant Facilitates Manager will be responsible for ensuring the fire system is up to date to include fire extinguishers and sprinkler system and prepares the facility to successfully pass all inspections. The Assistant Facilities Manager will be expected to respond to after-hours emergency work orders and major facility-related issues in a timely manner and will serve as a member of the Facilities leadership team and is expected to meet program goals and objectives.
The Facility Management Program is responsible for the upkeep and improvements of Roof Above properties by providing a comfortable, functional, sustainable, efficient, and safe built environment. This not only applies to Roof Above own property but is also relevant to leased space and properties managed by Roof Above programs. The Facility Management Team is dedicated to supporting the staff and the people we serve for all their facility needs and issues.
Locations in the portfolio include Apartments at Moore Place, The Rise on Clanton (TROC), Forest Point Place, and the Scattered Sites Program that leases over 100 apartments throughout Mecklenburg County
