Job summary

DePelchin Family Services in LaPorte, TX seeks a Lead Facilities Technician to oversee day-to-day maintenance of buildings, grounds, and systems, working with the Facilities Manager to implement preventive programs and manage vendor services.

The role requires extensive HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry knowledge, the ability to read blueprints, and strong organization to manage multiple projects while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years’ experience in facilities maintenance with special knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and construction.
• EPA HVAC/Refrigeration Certification.
• Electrical Apprentice License.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates day-to-day maintenance activities for buildings, grounds, equipment, and vehicles under the direction of the facilities leadership.
• Assists with assigning and prioritizing work orders and monitoring progress to support timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
• Supports emergency response efforts and participates in on-call coverage to address facility-related issues promptly.
• Assists with implementation and coordination of preventive maintenance programs and schedules.
• Assists with coordinating vendor services and monitoring work to help ensure compliance with contractual requirements and service expectations.
• Mantains appropriate inventory of supplies, parts, tools, and equipment necessary to support facility operations.
• Performs maintenance and repairs, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs.
• Support facility setup and operational needs, including conference room arrangements and basic audio/visual support.
• Monitors building systems including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, identifies potential problems and promptly communicates issues and concerns to facilities leadership.
• Conducts routine inspections of facilities to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Supports safety and emergency preparedness initiatives, including participation in fire drills, inspections, and reporting requirements.
• Maintains accurate documentation of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
