Job summary

The City of Dania Beach is hiring for a journeyman-level maintenance role responsible for a variety of trades across municipal facilities. You will perform carpentry, painting, masonry, roofing, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fabrication tasks with potential lead supervision.

A strong focus on safety, quality, and timely completion of work orders is essential. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED, three years of vocational training or equivalent experience, and a Florida

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED completed.
Three years of vocational training or full-time work experience in construction/trades.
Valid Florida driver’s license with a good driving record; if out of state, must obtain Florida license within 30 days of hire.
Preferred: CDL Class B and five years of trades experience; supervisory/lead experience; related certifications.

Responsibilities

Assist Facilities Foreman with work assignments and budget considerations.
Maintain supplies and tools inventories; assist with budget needs for tools and equipment.
Obtain quotes for goods and services required by the Division.
Act as primary contact for building issues and emergencies.
Perform journeyman level work across carpentry, painting, masonry, roofing, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fabrication.
Maintain building/security tasks and assist with installation and repairs.
Maintain records of work orders, time sheets, materials, and requisitions.
Work independently or as part of a team and ensure safety standards.
