Job summary

HKS, Inc. is seeking a senior facade design leader and project manager in Washington, DC.

You will envision, design, and deliver cutting-edge facade and enclosure systems, directing a multi-disciplinary team and coordinating with clients to meet performance, budget, and schedule goals. You will lead conceptual design, detailing, and documentation across all project phases, while advancing sustainable design solutions and ensuring alignment with codes and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Accredited architecture degree required.
• Architectural registration strongly preferred.
• Typically 10+ years of experience in architecture/facades.
• Sustainable design accreditation preferred.
• Experience across all phases of design and construction.
• Proficiency in Revit preferred.
• Familiarity with Rhino/SketchUp and 3D modelling.
• Knowledge of scripting and parametric tools is a plus.
• Familiarity with energy and daylighting tools is beneficial.
• Strong leadership and client management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead facade design and client relationships for multiple projects.
• Develop conceptual vision, system design, performance and detailing.
• Oversee execution and delivery of documents across phases.
• Coordinate LINE Facade Studio talent with client project teams.
• Incorporate sustainable design solutions into projects.
• Review design work for accuracy and completeness.
• Set performance criteria for enclosure systems.
• Present to clients and manage project risk and timelines.
• Oversee coordination with internal disciplines and external consultants.
• Ensure compliance with codes, budgets, and schedules.
