Job summary

PlayCore is seeking an extrusion supervisor to oversee daily operations on the extrusion line, manage direct reports, and ensure quality from raw material. The role requires strong leadership, tooling setup, and process optimization to meet KPI targets.

Responsibilities include material handling, tool assembly, line adjustments, quality inspection, and training new staff. A high school diploma is required, with a college degree preferred and Six Sigma training advantageous.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required. College degree in associated field preferred.
• Some Six Sigma or LEAN training or experience desired.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Previous experience operating a plastics extrusion line.
• Supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Daily supervision of direct reports, addressing employee performance and document as needed, draft and present performance reviews at least annually or as required.
• Work with and/or at the direction of the assistant production manager to identify and implement tools or processes to optimize output and performance to meet the department goals and KPI’s.
• Ensures the proper raw materials are continuously loaded, this also includes weighing and adding color and other additives, able to calibrate loaders by percentage or weight.
• Reviews work orders; assembles tooling accordingly including extrusion heads, dies, pins, sizing sleeves, screens and extruder screws as needed.
• Sets up water tank, vacuum sizing tanks and calibrators, puller and saw according to work order requirements.
