Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in exhibit design, industrial design, interior design, architecture, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 10+ years in professional design, preferably in museums or experiential environments.
• 3+ years leading designers and multidisciplinary teams across multiple projects.
• Strong understanding of exhibit design processes, storytelling, and documentation.
• Ability to translate client content and audience needs into engaging experiences.
• Experience managing schedules, budgets, and vendor coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day design management from discovery through installation support.
• Guide multidisciplinary teams to develop engaging, hands-on experiences.
• Establish design standards, goals, and review processes across project phases.
• Collaborate with project teams to align scope, schedule, staffing, and budgets.
• Serve as secondary client contact, facilitating design meetings and decisions.
• Review drawings, graphics, descriptions, materials, lighting, and fabrication details.
• Mentor designers, prioritize workloads, and support professional growth.
• Coordinate with fabricators, vendors, engineers, and educators to preserve design intent.
• Identify design risks and potential scope gaps early in projects.
• Support prototyping, testing, and iterative refinement for family audiences.
