Job summary

Michigan State University’s Residential Dining Senior Executive Chef leads a diverse culinary team across campus, driving culinary excellence and strategic planning within RHS. This executive role shapes policies, menus, and training to deliver high-quality dining experiences for Spartans.

The Sr EC-ResD collaborates with leaders to ensure safe, efficient operations, and continuous improvement in service, while fostering growth, learning, and an inclusive campus culture.

Qualifications

• Knowledge normally acquired by completing a four year degree in a Hospitality-related field and skills from 2–3 years of culinary arts education.
• Five to seven years of related and progressively more responsible work experience with supervision at an Executive Chef level.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements policies, procedures, standards, and long-range objectives for food service.
• Leads recipe development, evaluations of products and trends, and support for menu and event programming.
• Provides leadership in food safety, sanitation, and compliance with standards.
• Oversees culinary operations, test kitchen activities, and product development in collaboration with unit chefs.
