Job summary

Korte Does It All, Inc. in New Haven, IN, is seeking an Excavation Lead to oversee excavation, grading, site preparation, and utility installation for residential, commercial, and municipal projects. You will manage field crews, operate heavy equipment as needed, and ensure work meets safety and quality standards.

This role requires strong leadership, the ability to coordinate crews and subcontractors, and a commitment to on-time project delivery. Indiana excavation experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3–5 years of excavation, site development, or utility construction experience.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and read blueprints/site plans.
• Knowledge of grading, drainage, and underground utilities.
• Read site plans, grades, and grade stakes; OSHA safety knowledge.
• Valid driver's license; ability to lift 50+ pounds; physically demanding work.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise excavation crews on job sites.
• Coordinate daily activities and communicate expectations to the team.
• Operate excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and related machinery as needed.
• Read site plans and oversee trenching, drainage, and utility work.
• Ensure safety procedures and OSHA compliance.
• Prepare daily reports and maintain project documentation.
• Mentor crew members on techniques and safety.
