Job summary

Las Vegas Motor Speedway is seeking a hands-on Lead, Event - Track Services to oversee daily operations, staffing, and event readiness of the facility. This role ensures safety, cleanliness, and smooth operations for guests, competitors, and staff during NASCAR, NHRA, and other events.

The Lead will supervise Track Services personnel, manage staffing schedules, coordinate setup/teardown, oversee equipment and facility maintenance, and support emergency operations and budgeting.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of supervisory experience in facility operations, venue operations, or related fields.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience reading site plans, maps, CAD drawings, and construction documents.

Position Summary

Las Vegas Motor Speedway is seeking a highly motivated and hands‑on Track Services Supervisor to assist in the daily operation, maintenance, and event readiness of the facility. This position plays a key role in overseeing Track Services staffing, coordinating facility maintenance activities, supporting event operations, and ensuring the speedway remains safe, clean, and operational for guests, competitors, and staff.

The Track Services Supervisor will work closely with the Director of Emergency & Track Services and other departments to support major events including NASCAR, NHRA, EDC, corporate events, testing activities, and year-round facility operations.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Supervise, train, develop, and evaluate Track Services personnel, including full-time, part-time, and event staff.
  • Manage staffing schedules, assignments, and deployment of pit fire, track safety, recovery, and support personnel to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Coordinate event setup and teardown activities including barricades, fencing, signage, equipment placement, venue infrastructure, and operational support equipment.
  • Oversee maintenance and repair of assets, grounds, roadways, fencing, barriers, SAFER barriers, grandstands, pit road infrastructure, garages, campgrounds, and event- related infrastructure.
  • Operate and supervise the use of heavy equipment, utility vehicles, forklifts, loaders, tractors, sweepers, water trucks, recovery vehicles, and other facility equipment.
  • Assist with event logistics, campground preparation, venue readiness, and race support activities.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections and ensure compliance with LVMS policies, OSHA requirements, applicable regulations, and sanctioning body standards including NASCAR, NHRA, SCCA, USAC, and other event-specific governing organizations.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, sanctioning bodies, and internal departments on facility improvement projects, operational planning, and event execution.
  • Maintain inventory and operational readiness of department tools, equipment, vehicles, materials, parts, and supplies, including tracking maintenance needs, coordinating repairs, and supporting departmental purchasing activities.
  • Support emergency operations, severe weather response, incident management activities, and race control support during events.
  • Assist with departmental budgeting, forecasting, and expense management.
  • Represent the department during events, planning meetings, and operational discussions while serving as a point of contact for assigned projects and activities.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in facility operations, venue operations, public works, construction, maintenance, event operations, motorsports operations, emergency services, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing personnel schedules and coordinating operational staffing.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment and utility vehicles preferred.
  • Ability to read site plans, maps, CAD drawings, and construction documents.
  • Working knowledge of facility maintenance practices, equipment operation, event logistics, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and other business software applications.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, loud environments for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and perform physical labor throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on event schedules and operational needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working at a motorsport's facility, sports venue, entertainment venue, fairgrounds, or large-scale event facility.
  • Experience supervising race operations personnel, track safety crews, pit fire personnel, recovery teams, or emergency response staff.
  • Forklift, aerial lift, or heavy equipment certifications preferred.
  • Knowledge of incident command systems, emergency management, motorsports safety operations, and event operations.
