Job summary

Clayco is seeking a Senior Miscellaneous Metals Estimator, Steel Procurement to deliver accurate bids and scope analyses for construction projects across North America. You will perform material take-offs, develop comprehensive proposals, manage project budgets, and identify cost-saving change orders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in estimating or related roles.
• Knowledge of construction principles and practices required.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience with project setup, budgeting, buyout, and cost reporting is essential.
• Good understanding of critical path scheduling.
• Energetic, motivated, and able to work independently or in a team.
• Knowledge of building construction and steel design concepts from drawings.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience with bid proposals, scope determination, and quantity take-offs.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate quantity take-offs for Miscellaneous Metals.
• Develop detailed proposals and project estimates.
• Maintain project budgets with profit and loss accountability.
• Identify change order opportunities and establish costs.
• Prepare, issue, and track change orders for extra work.
• Develop options and recommend best value solutions based on cost, quality, and material availability.
• Include review of quotes, project management, and material purchasing.
• Lead the Estimator role and drive departmental goals.
