Silver Star Construction is seeking a Lead Estimator to prepare estimates for roadway, earthwork, utility, and civil infrastructure projects across Oklahoma. This is a leadership role supporting growth and bidding success for the firm’s employee-owned team.

Responsibilities include analyzing plans, calculating quantities, gathering vendor quotes, and coordinating with engineers and owners to optimize bids. A strong DOT estimating background is essential for project success.

Qualifications

• Five-plus years of estimating experience in civil construction.
• DOT estimating experience required; ODOT familiarity preferred.
• Proficiency in heavy civil estimating and project management software.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project plans and specifications to determine requirements.
• Calculate quantities and prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Gather and compare pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
• Identify risks and constructability concerns.
• Participate in bid reviews and project strategy meetings.

• Assist with scheduling and proposal development.
• Monitor DBE participation compliance.

Silver Star Construction is seeking a highly motivated Lead Estimator to join our employee-owned team. This role will focus on preparing estimates for roadway, earthwork, utility, and civil infrastructure projects while supporting strategic growth throughout Oklahoma.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project plans and specifications to determine project requirements.
• Calculate quantities and prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Gather and compare pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
• Identify potential project risks and constructability concerns.
• Participate in bid reviews and project strategy meetings.
• Coordinate with engineers, owners, and consultants throughout the bidding process.
• Evaluate opportunities for alternative methods and cost efficiencies.
• Assist with scheduling and proposal development.
• Monitor compliance with DBE participation requirements.
• Help establish estimating standards and best practices.
• Provide leadership and technical guidance to estimating team members.

Qualifications

• Experience preparing estimates for transportation and heavy civil projects.
• DOT estimating experience required; ODOT familiarity preferred.
• Skilled in estimating and project management software platforms.
• Strong proficiency in HeavyBid, Bluebeam, AGTEK, Primavera P6, AutoCAD, Excel, and Microsoft Project.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
• Equivalent industry experience accepted.
• Five-plus years of estimating experience in civil construction.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Ability to work effectively under tight bid deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
