Job summary

Crossland Heavy Contractors in Columbus, KS seeks an experienced estimator to lead estimating efforts for road, bridge, and utility projects. You will supervise a team of estimators and manage takeoffs from drawings and specs, identifying risks and ensuring timely clarification with owners and engineers.

Responsibilities include pre-bid visits, bid scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and detailed quantity take-offs using Excel, Bluebeam, On-screen Takeoff, and Agtek.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience in Estimating (Heavy/Civil) preferred.
• Strong business and financial knowledge and ability to build relationships within the industry.

Responsibilities

• Attend Pre-Bid Meetings and pre-bid jobsite visits.
• Time management to complete multiple bids within deadlines.
• Assess past costs to understand labor and equipment needs.
• Understand plans and specifications thoroughly.
• Learn estimating software and tools such as Bluebeam, On-screen, and AGTEK.
