Job summary

Engtal, a New England general contractor, seeks an experienced Estimator to join the preconstruction team in Connecticut. You will develop estimates from concept through final bid, working with project teams, subcontractors, and leadership to set up projects for success.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating or preconstruction in commercial or industrial construction.
• Strong understanding of costs, drawings, specs, and trade scopes.
• Ability to develop accurate estimates and compare subcontractor proposals.

• Excellent attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture.
• Resourceful, takes ownership, communicates well, and enjoys teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates from conceptual design through final bid.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and detailed cost analysis.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
• Develop scopes of work and identify potential gaps.
• Review drawings and specifications for constructability, risk, and cost impacts.
• Participate in value engineering and preconstruction planning.
• Work with project teams to ensure a smooth handoff from estimating into construction.
• Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and industry partners.
