Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in Michigan and in good standing.
• 3+ years of experience in estate planning, elder law, or related practice.
• Ability to lead client meetings and explain complex concepts clearly and compassionately.
• Strong knowledge of estate planning tools (trusts, wills, powers of attorney).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to empathy, teamwork, and growth.
• Willingness to work in Troy, Rochester, and Bloomfield Hills offices as needed.
• Experience mentoring junior staff and leading a legal team.
• Familiarity with process-driven law firms and legal tech platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead client consultations to design and present estate plans and Medicaid strategies.
• Provide legal counsel on estate planning, asset protection, and long-term care planning.
• Oversee plan implementation with paralegals and coordinators to ensure compliance.
• Build strong client relationships with empathetic, solution-focused service.
• Contribute to internal process improvements and team workflows.
• Stay current on Michigan law and emerging estate planning strategies.
• Mentor and support team members as needed.
• Participate in firm meetings and leadership discussions to drive growth.
