Job summary

State of Ohio's Health Department seeks a Vaccine Preventable Disease Epidemiology Supervisor to plan, implement and manage the statewide epidemiology program for vaccine‑preventable diseases (VPDs). You will supervise lower‑level epidemiology investigators and contribute to policy development.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in public health or preventive medicine.
  • Minimum 12 months epidemiology investigation experience with a health agency.
  • Alternatively, 6 months experience as Epidemiology Investigator 3.

Responsibilities

  • Implements epidemiologic studies to assess disease levels and prevalence.
  • Leads outbreak investigation and control efforts for identified infectious diseases.
  • Supervises lower-level epidemiology investigators.
  • Evaluates surveillance data timeliness and quality.
  • Writes and edits publications for journals and reports.
