Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Development Lab Test Engineer to join the Prototyping and Integration Team. You will lead environmental/test campaigns (thermal, TVac, vibration, HALT/HASS), mentor technicians, and ensure hardware qualification to the highest standards while delivering on schedule.

You will work hands-on in the lab, coordinate test resources, analyze data, and drive process improvements for development to production qualification in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
• 4+ years in hardware development, test lab, or space/aerospace environments.
• Experience operating environmental test equipment (thermal/vacuum chambers, vibration, data acquisition).
• Experience managing multiple concurrent test campaigns and coordinating resources.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical authority on environmental test execution, ensuring compliance with plans and standards.
• Manage multiple concurrent test campaigns, coordinating resources, schedules, and equipment.
• Operate environmental test equipment (thermal/vacuum chambers, vibration and shock tables); oversee data acquisition.
• Mentor and lead a team of test technicians to ensure consistent execution quality.
• Review test plans and translate requirements into detailed procedures for technicians.
• Generate test reports and run notes for post-test data processing.
• Drive continuous improvement of environmental test processes for faster development-to-qualification transitions.
