Job summary

AdventHealth Daytona Beach seeks an Environmental Services Associate to maintain cleanliness across patient rooms, hallways, and public areas, supporting a safe and healing environment.

You will perform cleaning tasks, collect and dispose of trash, restock supplies, and sanitize surfaces while following infection control procedures. Applicants must meet minimum education and background screening requirements and contribute to a respectful, team-oriented workplace.

Qualifications

Good communication skills required.
Ability to read, write and speak English.
Basic computer skills required.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum 2 years of environmental services experience.

Responsibilities

Collect and dispose of trash and clean patient rooms daily.
Sweep, mop, dust, and sanitize assigned areas.
Stock paper items and cleaning supplies as needed.
Ensure infection control procedures and waste disposal comply with policy.
Train associates and address concerns to improve accountability.

Job Description

Collects and disposes of trash in an appropriate manner. Performs cleaning tasks such as sweeping, dust mopping, damp mopping, high dusting, wall washing, scrubbing, bed making and vacuuming. Collects and stages soiled linen for pick up. Cleans assigned areas daily, including collecting and removing trash, changing bed linens, and sanitizing all surfaces. Stocks paper items and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary or designated. Demonstrates a complete knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures, and proper operation of cleaning equipment. Documents all work that has been performed. Stocks cart daily with paper products and cleaning solutions. Cleans patient rooms, public areas, restrooms, offices and ancillary rooms in assigned areas. Other duties as assigned. Disposes of normal and biohazardous waste. Trains employees, addresses concerns and resolves problems. Includes validation of Associate expectations and accountability of front-line team members.
