Join to apply for the Lead Environmental Engineer Consultant role at WSP in the U.S.

WSP is initiating a search for a Lead Environmental Engineering Consultant for the Rancho Cordova, California office. This role involves providing environmental consulting services to public and private clients, with responsibilities including project management, client interaction, and team mentorship. The position requires both office and field work, including work at project sites in California and Nevada.

Your Responsibilities include:

  1. Managing technical assignments and entire projects or project components.
  2. Leading remediation activities at complex sites, including former mining facilities.
  3. Mentoring staff and ensuring compliance with environmental laws and standards.
  4. Overseeing project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
  5. Business development, including proposal preparation and client interaction.
  6. Supervising staff performing environmental calculations and reports.
  7. Representing WSP professionally with clients, regulators, and subcontractors.
  8. Traveling primarily within California and Nevada.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental, Civil, Sanitary, Chemical, Industrial, Agricultural, or Public Health Engineering.
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience.
  • PE license in California.
  • Strong communication skills, computer proficiency, and ability to work in a team.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal hours and in challenging conditions.

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering.
  • Project management training or experience.
  • OSHA HAZWOPER certification, First Aid, and CPR training.
  • Experience with federal projects and CERCLA regulations.

Compensation: $104,500 - $155,210, plus benefits.
