About Powelson Consulting

We are a recruiting firm with a large variety of positions across many industries throughout all 50 states in the USA. Currently, our clients are only located within the United States.

We do not currently offer C2C or VISA roles.

Job Responsibilities

1. Prepare permits and collect permit data related to mining, including but not limited to: Title V Air Permit, Industrial Wastewater Permits (NPDES), and Stormwater Permits.
2. Develop relationships and support plant staff to ensure environmental compliance and support for projects related to air and wastewater quality, stormwater management, greenhouse gas emissions, and environmental audits.
3. Respond to emergency situations such as spills and discharges, coordinating with emergency, fire, and spill response teams (must be on-call at all times).
4. Collaborate with various departments to understand their production plans and potential changes.
5. Collect data and maintain records on air emissions, discharge monitoring reports (DMR), and waste management.
6. Establish schedules and methods for providing environmental compliance and regulatory services.
7. Participate in new hire orientation and update annual refresher training on environmental requirements.
8. Lead the Environmental Education Program (EEP) and foster community involvement through the Environmental Learning Center (ELC).
9. Maintain certifications such as ISCC, South Carolina Environmental Excellence Program (EEP), Wildlife and Industry Together (W.A.I.T.), Zero Waste to Landfill, and South Carolina Solar Habitat Program (Certified Silver Level).
10. Maintain ISO 14001 certifications.
11. Manage on-site contractors responsible for waste handling, recycling, waste oil collection, janitorial, and process cleaning.
12. Understand plant processes and waste streams to develop safe and cost-effective waste management strategies.
13. Have thorough knowledge of applicable regulations: air (Title V), waste (RCRA), and water (SPCC & SWPPP), including waste disposal regulations.
14. Experience with ISO 14001 certifications.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of related experience or 6 years plus a Master's Degree (or PhD without experience).
• Bachelor's Degree.
• ISO 14001 Certification.
