Job summary

Reliance Industries (RIL) seeks a seasoned environmental professional to support the Head Environment (RIL Manufacturing Sites) in environmental compliance and EMS management across sites. The role focuses on ensuring adherence to environmental legislation, monitoring performance, and implementing improvement programs.

The candidate will analyze processes to reduce emissions, establish baselines, and maintain up-to-date EMS documentation, reporting on KPIs per GRI guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Environmental Engineering or Chemical Engineering with Post Graduation in Environmental Science/ Engineering or equivalent.
  • 13-15 years of working experience in manufacturing sites, preferably in petroleum refinery / petrochemical / oil & gas / chemical units in environmental monitoring and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Review company operations and assist in ensuring compliance with best environmental standards and relevant legislation within prescribed quality standards and costs.
  • Review processes, techniques and equipment to determine how emissions may be reduced and compliance of environmental standards achieved, and study operations to ensure compliance with best environmental standards.
  • Identify opportunities for Environmental Management Programs to improve environmental performance with techno-commercial advantages for sites.
  • Establish baselines and monitor regularly for environmental performance, including pollution load, water consumption, and energy consumption, and assist in generating reports.
  • Maintain Environmental Monitoring (statutory and internal) and take corrective action against deviations.
  • Update EMS at site to comply with regulatory requirements and amendments.
  • Documentation, implementation, review and upgrading of EMS at site.
  • Monitor Sustainability KPIs and reporting as per GRI Guidelines.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or Chemical Engineering
Post Graduation in Environmental Science/ Engineering or equivalent

The job role entails in supporting the Head Environment (RIL Manufacturing Sites) in the areas of Environmental Compliances and Environmental Management Systems


Job Description and Responsibilities


  • Review Companys operation and assist in ensuring the compliance with best environmental standards and relevant legislation within prescribed quality standards and costs.

  • Review processes, techniques and equipment to determine how emissions may be reduced and compliance of environmental standards achieved. Be associated with studies of operations and processes to ensure that these comply with the best environmental standards.

  • Identify opportunities for taking up Environmental Management Programs which will benefit sites to improve environmental performance with a techno-commercial advantage.

  • Establishing baseline and monitoring on regular basis for different environmental performance, specific reduction on pollution load on environment, specific water consumption, specific energy consumption etc. and assist in generating reports.

  • Keep track of Environmental Monitoring (both statutory and internal) and take corrective action against any deviations.

  • Use logic to analyze or identify underlying principles, reasons or facts associated with information.

  • update the system as per regulatory requirements and amendments so as to ensure compliance to all applicable laws.

  • Documentation, implementation, review and upgradation of EMS at site.

  • Monitoring of Sustainability KPIs and reporting as per GRI Guidelines


Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills)

Sound knowledge of Environmental Legislations and Environmental Management Systems.



  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill

  • Hands on experience on computer skills

  • Be a team player
