Job summary

The Senior Systems Engineer designs, implements, secures, and supports the University’s enterprise systems infrastructure across on‑premises and cloud environments, including Windows, Linux, virtualization, storage, backup, and authentication services.

They lead complex technical work, resolve major production issues, mentor colleagues, and help establish engineering standards and sustainable operating practices across IT and university partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and six years of progressive infrastructure experience.
• Experience with Windows or Linux server environments and cloud platforms.
• Strong scripting/automation and incident response skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain, monitor, and improve secure enterprise systems across on‑premises and cloud environments.
• Lead complex infrastructure initiatives, upgrades, migrations, and integrations.
• Develop automation using scripting, IaC, and version control; implement security hardening and recovery procedures.
• Maintain technical documentation, diagrams, and operating procedures; provide technical leadership on projects.
