Job summary

IBM Consulting in Herndon, VA is seeking a Lead Architect to design a cloud-native, Kubernetes-based hosting environment for the Army AECC program, applying DevSecOps and IaC to deliver a secure, automated platform.

You will work with government engineers to implement IaC pipelines, harden components per DoD STIGs, and guide a distributed team in mature delivery and incident response.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) environments and automation.
• Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity controls and hardening practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the DevSecOps and automation framework supporting all AECC environments.
• Architect and maintain IaC pipelines for automated provisioning and deployment.
• Lead automation tool evaluation and capability improvements across the service.
• Manage Kubernetes clusters, including CNI/CSI integrations, and lifecycle management.
• Troubleshoot complex distributed systems and perform root-cause analysis.
