Job summary

The City of San Bernardino Municipal Water Department seeks a Senior Engineering Technician to perform complex engineering assignments, supervise engineering technicians, and support planning, design, and construction of public water, water reclamation, and sewer facilities.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or physical sciences and at least 2 years of related engineering work experience, with SWRCB certificates within 24 months of appointment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent with relevant experience.
• Two years of related engineering work experience; more for advancement.
• SWRCB Water Treatment Operator Grade 2 and Water Distribution Operator Grade 2 certificates within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderately to complex engineering assignments and lead Engineering Technicians.
• Plan, design, and coordinate construction activities for water and sewer facilities.
• Support regulatory compliance and project development.
